Services for Multi-System Involved Individuals

CRCC serves individuals who have complex needs as a result of child welfare, justice or multisystem involvement, medical co-morbidity, homelessness or dual disorders.

Our Range of Services

Clinical and support services play a vital role in promoting mental health by offering individuals a comprehensive network of care designed to meet a wide range of emotional and mental needs.

Clinical services typically include assessments, individualized treatment planning, counseling, and crisis intervention delivered by trained mental health professionals who use evidence‑based practices to support recovery and stability. These services help clients better understand their symptoms, develop coping strategies, and build the skills needed to manage daily challenges. Support services complement clinical care by addressing the practical and environmental factors that influence well‑being.

This may include case management, coordination with community resources, psychoeducation, and assistance navigating housing, employment, or financial challenges. Together, these services create a holistic approach that not only treats mental health conditions but also strengthens the client’s overall support system. By integrating clinical expertise with ongoing support, organizations like CRCC empower individuals to achieve long‑term wellness, improve functioning, and build healthier, more resilient lives within their communities.

Psychiatric services

Psychiatric and Medication Services

CRCC offers psychiatric services for children and adults through Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP‑BC) who provide evaluation, prescribe psychotropic medication when appropriate, and support clients in the ongoing management of their treatment.

Clients must be actively participating in therapy in order to receive psychiatric services. The psychiatric nurse practitioner collaborates closely with your clinician to support your progress and ensure you receive the most effective treatment. After completing an intake and beginning therapy, your therapist will talk with you about any medication‑related needs and, if appropriate, submit a formal referral for a medication evaluation. Following that evaluation, routine follow‑up appointments are scheduled every one to three months. Clients must be at least 5 years old to receive a medication evaluation.

If medication might be part of your path to feeling better, we’re here to walk with you and make the process feel safe, informed, and empowering.

Community outreach services

Community Outreach and Engagement

CRCC offers a friendly, community‑focused speaker’s bureau with presentations on a wide range of topics related to mental health, wellness, and human behavior. Local schools, clubs, churches, and community groups are welcome to request a speaker, and we do our best to match you with someone who fits your needs. Presentations are offered at no set cost, and while donations are appreciated, they are never required.

CRCC remains actively involved in strengthening the well‑being of our community through events, partnerships, and collaborative initiatives. Each May, we host our Annual Art Contest for Mental Health Awareness Month, inviting people of all ages to use creativity as a way to celebrate resilience and spark meaningful conversations about mental health. Throughout the year, we deepen our impact by participating in the Ford County ROSC to support recovery‑oriented systems of care, engaging with the CBHA to stay connected to statewide mental health efforts, and contributing to the Birth Thru 5 Action Council to promote healthy development for young children and their families. Together, these efforts reflect our commitment to building a healthier, more informed, and more connected community for individuals of all ages.

CRCC welcomes the opportunity to work alongside community groups committed to enhancing access to resources, fostering awareness, and building a more connected community.

Forensic / Court services

Forensic and Court Services

CRCC collaborates with the legal system to deliver a range of court‑ordered services. These services may include mental health assessments with recommended treatment, pre‑trial evaluations, anger management groups, and specialized evaluations and treatment for individuals referred through the court.

Clients involved with the court system may initiate services independently by contacting CRCC at 217‑379‑4302. Referrals may also be submitted directly by child welfare agencies or the courts. When a formal referral is received, a notification letter will be mailed with instructions to contact our office to begin the process. All services start with a comprehensive initial assessment, which includes recommendations for further care when clinically indicated. Specialized evaluations and treatment for individuals charged with or convicted of sexual offenses may be scheduled by contacting our office at 217‑379‑4302. Evaluation appointments are allotted four hours to accommodate the comprehensive testing and assessment procedures required.

CRCC welcomes inquiries from courts, legal professionals, and clients seeking structured, clinically informed forensic services—please reach out to initiate services.

How it works

  • Individuals are welcome to contact our office directly to schedule an intake appointment, and no formal referral is required. If another agency submits a referral on your behalf, you will receive a letter confirming that it has been received and inviting you to call our office to arrange your appointment. During this initial conversation, our staff will gather basic demographic details, insurance information, and other helpful background information so we can better understand your needs. We will then schedule a time with an Intake Specialist that aligns with your preferences, ensuring a comfortable and supportive start to the assessment process.

  • Upon arriving for your assessment, our front office team will warmly welcome you and review your insurance information. If needed, they will also help determine a private‑pay fee based on family size, income, and county of residence. You will receive a good‑faith estimate outlining the anticipated cost of treatment services.

During the intake appointment, you will meet with our Intake Specialist, who will guide you through the assessment process. They will review your rights, explain how our services work, and ensure you feel informed and comfortable. You will be asked to provide consent for services and will learn about important topics such as confidentiality and access to your records.

Your Intake Specialist will then take time to get to know you by gathering information about your social and family history, trauma history, strengths, needs, preferences, symptoms, and other relevant details. This helps us make thoughtful recommendations for services and determine an initial diagnosis when appropriate.

The session concludes with the development of your personalized treatment plan. This plan outlines your goals, the steps that will support your progress, and the services you wish to pursue—creating a clear and collaborative path forward.

  • Once your initial intake is complete, our team carefully reviews your information to match you with a therapist who aligns with your needs and preferences. Your assigned therapist will reach out to introduce themselves and schedule your first therapy appointment.

Many clients begin therapy on a weekly basis, while others attend every other week; your therapist will talk with you about what feels most supportive during your first session. The length of treatment varies for each person and is guided by your progress and the goals you set together. We check in on this regularly to ensure your care continues to meet your needs.

Planning for a successful transition out of services begins early and is revisited throughout your time in therapy, helping you feel prepared and supported every step of the way.

  • A formal review of your progress and any needed updates to your services will take place at least every six months. If at any point you feel your goals or services should change sooner, your treatment plan can be adjusted to reflect your needs. When you and your therapist agree that you have reached a point of completion in your treatment, you will review a discharge plan together to ensure you have the support and resources needed to maintain your progress moving forward. If you ever wish to return to services in the future, you are always welcome to do so by completing a new intake.

Frequently asked questions

  • No, you will be contacted by a clinician once you have been assigned and appointment time becomes available.

  • In an effort to meet your needs, clinicians will try to arrange appointment times outside of regular office hours, but this cannot be guaranteed.  There are also options for video or phone sessions available.

  • If you feel that your relationship with your therapist is not a good fit, you should first try to discuss this with your therapist.  If you feel it was not resolved, you can contact the Clinical Supervisor to discuss the issue and determine your needs and appropriate staff member.

  • Clients can set up a fee for services based on income, number of dependents and county of residence. Our Community Support Specialist can also help with applying for Medicaid if you qualify. If you are denied services for failure to pay, you can return once you pay the past due amount. You can also set up a payment plan with the Business Administrator to pay off any unpaid balance while continuing to receive services.

  • You may contact a crisis worker by phone at 217-359-4141 after business hours and on weekends. You can call, text or chat with 988 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • If a client is under 4 years of age, has a primary diagnosis that is developmental (autism, intellectual developmental disorder), OR primary diagnosis and treatment needs are substance-use related only; CRCC may not be the best provider. Front office staff can provide referral information for other providers in the area who may better meet your needs.
